I missed everyone this weekend! I kept wanting to read and comment on blogs but I didn’t have my computer, plus I was so busy!

What’s marvelous is getting the opportunity to go to my sorority’s annual leadership conference in DC!
Our shuttle driver was totally awesome and drove us around some of the hot spots of DC. I managed to snag a pretty bad picture of the white house.
What’s marvelous is having our chapter be recognized while having awesome lunches and dinners and meeting sisters from all over the country.
What’s marvelous was the fact I got to bond with some of my sisters this weekend. We were pretty much with each other 24.7
What’s marvelous is the little, beautiful things in the world. Such as.. airplane view of a city at night!
Overall, I had a great time this weekend but obviously didn’t take many pictures. Oops.
Today is my first day of classes! I got up at 6:40 to do Bodypump! It was hard to wake up early but once I got going I was fine and I love having a huge chunk of my workout done for the day. There were a few new tracks which made it more fun too.
Now I am devouring a bowl of Special K Vanilla Almond with Almond milk and Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride tea. I love this tea.. I bought 3 boxes when it was on sale after the holidays.
At 10 I have my first class and then I go till 12. Then I have a break and have class from 3:30-5:30. Overall, not too bad of a day. I’m honestly excited to go to class. Nerd status. I will be sure to update you on how my classes are and hopefully my eats!
The only bad thing about this weekend was the fact I couldn’t control what I was eating. They provided everything to us. I definitely indulged by having cheesecake and normal cake but overall tried my best to control myself. I missed working out too! So now today is a fresh start and I’m back on it with workouts and healthy food. I missed it! (obviously this is a lifestyle for me now 🙂 )

I feel like being random today.
1. I’ll also be MIA this weekend. I’m going to a leadership conference in DC! While I’m excited for it because I’m sure it’ll be fun it stinks because a. I hate wearing dress clothes b. It’s the weekend before school starts
2. Yeah.. my semester starts Monday. I’m actually semi-excited but I know I will take that back once I have a thing called homework. Oh and tests.
3. I had an amazing veggie omelet last night. I inhaled it to put it modestly.
4. My roommate and I found we have a passion for Special K products.
Maybe they can give us discounts?!?
5. Kcups while expensive are so convenient. And come in cool flavors.
6. Fitness classes start at my school gym Monday. First class I have planned? BODYPUMP! I can’t wait. I missed that class! Also on the list is PiYO and a Running Interval class.
I will definitely update you on my leadership filled weekend! & the start of the semester!

Dinner: Baked chicken breast with Memphis BBQ sauce, a salad with spinach, cherry tomatoes, carrots, peas, cucumber and sugar free raspberry vinaigrette and a granny smith apple with cinammon sprinkled on top
Snack: Popcorn with hot sauce, Diet hot cocoa with almond milk
My roomie also had me try pretzel M&Ms. I only had 2 but man those are like a legal form of crack I think…
After being reunited with my roomie, I didn’t have enough time to go to the gym before it closed. So I did an HIIT Turbofire workout! I love Charlene’s energy and I like how it’s a quick but super effective workout. My legs feel the burn and I’m dripping with sweat! Then I did a bunch of ab exercises. I’m really hoping to go to the gym tonight though. I want treadmill time! (weird..)
I also want to tell you about some fabulous purchases. Of the coffee genre. I’m not sure how many of you have an Ollie’s by you. We have a bunch around and basically they sell name-brand discounted stuff. They had ground coffee in a bunch of cool flavors for 3 bucks so I bought 2 bags. Cinnamon roll and pumpkin spice. I’m pleased to say I’m in love with both. They actually have the flavor that they advertise! I hate when you buy coffee in a fancy flavor but it tastes ordinary. What a letdown. So if there’s an Ollie’s by you coffee lovers.. BUY THEIR COFFEE.

I think I can do this.
1. I despise chocolate milk. I tried it once.. never again. But yes I like milk, and chocolate ice cream and chocolate. Just not chocolate milk. Weird I know.
2. Currently I’m a student majoring in Nursing and Psychology. Yay science! 🙂
3. I used to work at an amusement park by me. It was pretty awful. Really.
4. I own a whole shoebox full of nailpolish. I also continue to buy new colors. Obsessed.

5. My favorite workout is doing upper body weights. I love the burn and the soreness after.
6. I’m terrified of birds. I will never watch the movie The Birds for fear of never wanting to go outside again.

Today is an incredibly uneventful day. I’m stuck at work till 4 then I need to go to the post office to mail a book. Dinner tonight..well you’ll see that tomorrow 😉 I plan on hitting up the gym after dinner for some light cardio and ab exercises because my legs feel kinda tired and my upper body KILLS from my workout yesterday. ( I love it!). I also can’t wait to catch up with my roomie tonight after being away from each other for a month. I’m thinking wine?! We shall seeeee 😉

Marvelous is.. my over hour long gym sesh today. There was no one at the gym and it was amazing. I got 3 miles in on the treadmill (which I will probably become BFFs with because there are freezing temps all this week )and also did a solid upper body weight routine! I got up ate breakfast and went. I usually am not a morning workout person but I can’t deny the awesome feeling I get after I go and do my workout and still have the whole day ahead of me!
Marvelous is.. this food combo. Plain Greek yogurt, unsweetened cocoa powder and chunks of strawberries. Mmmm!

Why Hello there!
Sorry I was MIA this weekend. I was a busy girl!
After work Friday afternoon I finally was reunited with my Big. She gave me some great birthday presents and then we got ready to go out to eat and then to the Amerks game!
Of course we went to Panera. I think I seriously need a VIP membership status there. I feel like I eat there too much! I got the YP2 with Thai Chopped Chicken salad (no wontons), the Vegetarian Pesto soup and an apple. Yum. What I love the most about Panera is that you can eat a lot, it is relatively lower in calories to other food places and the food doesn’t f feel super heavy in your tummy after!
Then, we headed to the Amerks game! Although it wasn’t the same as my beloved Sabres (who won their first game yay!), it was still a blast. Afterwards we went out! We went to a club and then an Irish bar where we got dirty girl scouts! It honestly tastes like a thin mint. So delicious.

Waking up was a littleeee rough but I went home early because I had big plans to spend the day with my mom. Ever since I was younger we always joked about going to the casino once I was 21. Well that finally happened so we went! I honestly can’t understand the addiction of it. It smelled, it takes your money and I didn’t get a real rush or anything. We ended up only losing 2 dollars which was fine with us! It was more of an experience than a goal to win anyways. Then we went to a local Italian restaurant. I got a stuffed pepper that came with beans and carrots on the side. To die for! I couldn’t even eat half (dinner later 😉 ) but it was honestly so delicious and I would love to go back again.
Ohhh delicious goodness.
After, we went to the outlet mall where I got some good deals! I got a free lotion with a coupon and a shirt and hoodie from the gap for 12 dollars! We didn’t spend a ton of time there though, we just weren’t really in the mood. We saw a Hobby Lobby next to the mall and decided to stop in and take a peek. WHY HAVE I NEVER BEEN HERE BEFORE?! I was in love! So many things for crafts and decorating the home. I definitely will be going back for sorority craft things along with decorations for my apartment next year. I got a couple of antique looking medal signs that say London, Paris and NYC for my bedroom next year. I plan on that being the theme of the room. I also got some fabric to get some sorority shirts done!

Overall, a totally successful Saturday!
Today I was supposed to try skiing with Luke.. until 60 mph winds made an appearance. So I did some grocery shopping and Luke came over. We watched some American Horror Story (addicted) and I made us a lovely dinner of chicken sausage, whole grain pasta and salad! Once he left I did an HIIT workout and abs just to get a little activity in. Now I’m chopping on apple slices with cinnamon while sipping hot cocoa and watching the Biggest Loser.

That is what I am right now.
I’m almost in shock I’m sharing this with you all in a blog post. The majority of my friends don’t even know what I’m telling you all.
Overall, I’m a healthy person. I’m at a good weight, I’m not allergic to anything, I don’t need physical therapy for any body part, I’ve never had a cavity. This can go on and on.
What do I have wrong with me? Well, it all started my freshman year of college. I’d get horrible abdominal pain where I wouldn’t want to eat or move. After about a month of this and testing out if some particular food was causing it, I went to a gastroenterologist. I was diagnosed with IBS-C, kind of a cover-all if you ask me. I had to up my fiber intake and just eat healthy. Well, okay I can do that.
Since then, almost 2 years, the problems haven’t stopped. I deal with my IBS at random times, usually at night. I’d still get the pain but it wasn’t as frequent.
Then, I noticed the pain would only occur after I took a BM. Once I did, I was out of commission for the night. No appetite, pain that made me want to just lay down. I was over this. I was so frustrated I’d call my mom in tears. I wanted a solution, I just couldn’t deal with this. At the same time I was embarrassed to tell my friends what was wrong. I’d just say “my period” or “stomach problems”. Very vague excuses because I didn’t want them to know I was having issues. In fact, almost all of them still don’t know.
Over this break I went to the gynecologist. I told her my symptoms because I also noticed they got bad around the time my period was going to happen. I was diagnosed with endometriosis. Scary. My mom and grandma had it and my mom told me her awful stories. She didn’t want me to have it but obviously she couldn’t help it. Turns out abnormal cells can grow by your rectum which is why after a BM the pain starts. The only treatment really is to deal with it, or have surgery to remove the cells but they grow back in a few years anyways.
After my appointment I was semi-relieved. Knowing why I had pain made it a little easier to deal with. With medication the symptoms weren’t even bad the last month. I thought things were looking up. Eh…maybe not.
This past weekend although I had birthday celebrations, I was a PMS mess. I wanted to cry constantly. Then I started having abdominal pain like I used to, indigestion issues among others. Today was extremely bad. I had pain all day and still do. Along with a miniscule appetite. I pushed myself to workout hoping I’d feel better but nope.
So this leads to now. Frustration. Feeling like life is unfair. Why do I have to have these problems? I’m terrified of my period now. Every BM I cross my fingers and hope for the best. If I don’t get a BM due to my IBS-C, I cross my fingers my meds will kick in and I do. Everyday I feel like is a battle with my digestive system. I’m over this. I think one of the hardest parts is only having a few people to confide to about this. Obviously this isn’t a common conversation topic among friends and I don’t really want them to know either… which is why I’m still in shock I’m BLOGGING about this. I feel like this is a huge step for me.
I just really need to accept it. Everyone has their own problems. These are mine. Maybe someday I’ll find a treatment that works for me. But for now I realize things could be a lot lot worse.
